My name is Kara Bennett and I am the Outreach Director for NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) Minnesota. I wanted to take a moment to make sure you know about a workshop we’ll be offering a few places in Hennepin County for families this winter and spring. I hope you will promote these opportunities to those you work with!
Hope for Recovery is a six hour class taught by a trained family member that provides practical strategies for dealing with the complexities of mental illness. Participants learn about mental illnesses, treatments, coping and communication strategies, the mental health system, and local resources. This class is ideal for family members and caregivers.
