Upcoming DNR Veteran Employment Seminar

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, a Yellow Ribbon company, is proud to announce its first Veteran Employment Seminar on January 3, 2018.  It’s an informational event where veterans can learn about jobs in the DNR and how they match up with their military job skills.  DNR staff can answer their questions on education requirements and work experience as well as guide them on how to set up job searches and notifications.

Please help us spread the word especially the Guard/Reserve units that you are connected with. Space is limited and registration is required.  The attached pdf flyer gives you the seminar information that veterans need.

On November 6, 2017 PBYR and Wayzata High School Y.E.S. students met to wrap $450.00 of beef sticks and send 60 letters of appreciation to deployed MN soldiers.  Jennifer Rodgers, Deputy Chief Plekkenpol, Brenda Badger and Gary Goldetsky worked with the students and it was a delightful experience for all. The letter of this event is noted below.  Gary Goldetsky, PBYR President will meet with the Wayzata High School students in December 2017 to further review and discuss the PBYR mission.

DAV Donor Connect

I hope you all are faring well with this cold weather snap we have been having. I am proud to say our request list has dwindled to only a few items and many of the requests remaining I am running down leads to fulfill them.

I am making many new business connections which seem to be beneficial for the items unable to be listed with the Donor Connect Program or donors unable to maintain items. If you have any businesses or programs you think would benefit from the Donor Connect information please let me know and I can reach out to them or feel free to forward my contact information.

To all of you who have served our country I sincerely thank you for your service as we near Veterans Day this weekend. “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” John F. Kennedy
