Ms. Slavik joined the Plymouth City Council in 1999 as the Ward 2 council member. In 2006, she was elected mayor – and was re-elected in 2010 and again in 2014.  She was employed by the law firm of Gray, Plant, Mooty, Mooty & Bennett, P.A., as a paralegal for eight years, specializing in business and franchise litigation.  Mayor Slavik holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Minnesota and holds a paralegal certificate. She serves as a board member of the Plymouth Civic League. She is also a former family law advocate volunteer for Hennepin County.
